The Macomb Orchard Trail is, by far, the most ridden trail that I ride. It also remains my most favorite multi use path. It’s a 24 mile path that is all black top and built for smooth bike riding all the way to Richmond with lots of nature. There are many benches and places to stop and rest along the way. There are also stores and places to grab lunch or dinner as well. It’s a great way to go for a long bike ride while staying within civilization.
The only downfall of this trail is probably for the more avid cyclist. Anyone that likes to go high speed for long periods of time may not like the Macomb Orchard Trail. This is because there is a road with a traffic light about every mile. So there are a lot of stop-and-go spots.
Also the trail can get quite crowded on nice days and especially on Holidays. A lot of newbie riders use the trail so this can mean a slow and cluttered ride. Dodging slow riding trail riders can be frustrating for the advanced cyclist.
If you are looking for a nice place to go on a relaxing bike ride this is the bike trail for you to try. If you see a bald guy riding around it may just be me 🙂
