Stopping At Stop Signs

When you ride your bike you’re going to be interacting with vehicles. When you do you need to be sure you are obeying the traffic laws just like you were driving a motorized vehicle as well. Especially at intersections with stop signs. As you will see in the video below I had a close call at a 4 way stop sign. Fortunately, it was a slow paced area on a side street in a subdivision.

But the video serves as a great example as to why a cyclist should obey the traffic laws and stop at stop signs and wait their turn. Even when motorists try to be nice and let you blow the stop sign they are not doing you any favors. They are actually putting you in more danger.

Video:
You will see me coming up to a stop sign in this video. You can see that the person driving the opposite direction gets to the intersection way before me. Instead of turning she decided to wait for me and wave me through the stop sign. While she was waiting, the drivers behind her got impatient very quickly and reacted in a way that could have been dangerous for everyone.

I am a bald guy that likes to ride my bike a lot. If you are in the Capac, MI area and almost run over a bald guy riding a bike it was probably me. Thank you for not running me over.
